DIRECTORS

  • Ananth Ramaswamy is an Architectural Designer based in London and India. He has worked for large and small practices and is currently working at Michaelis Boyd Associates in London. He is an AA Dipl RIBA Part II graduate from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, 2014. He spent the last two years at the AA exploring the architectural idea as a negotiation between the imagined and built.

  • Maria Brewster is an Architect based in London and Greece. She has worked for practices in Athens and London and is currently practicing at David Morley Architects on  sports, educational and housing projects. She has previously taught at the AA Visiting Schools Greece Patras and Athens and has extensive experience in workshops and fabrication. She was also a construction tutor at the Burlington Danes Academy, London for the ‘School House Project’ 2014-15 and a RIBA ambassador in 2016-17. Currently she is researching traditional crafts and architecture in Greece primarily marble and ceramic processes and applications. She is an AA Dipl RIBA Part II (2013), Part III (2017) graduate and a RIBA/ARB registered Architect.

  • Charlotte Moe Halsted Is a Copenhagen-based Architect MAA, currently working at Arkitema Architects. Simultaneously she is a Director of Artzul, a Danish design studio, working with small scale productions. She is also a Tutor of Intermediate Unit 9 at the AA, where the students are working in Copenhagen. She has previously worked at John Pawson Architects in London on projects in Sweden, Scotland, Germany, Los Angeles and Miami. She is RIBA Dip Part II graduate from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, 2014.

  • Kirthana Sudhakar is an architect and educator from Bangalore, India. She is a graduate
    of R.V.S.A., where she completed her Bachelors of Architecture. In the past she has worked with Monsoon Design, as an intern, with Embarq as a volunteer, at Chandavarkar & Thacker Architects and currently works as a professor at CMRUSOA, a consultant for Connect Ventures and an independent practitioner. She is also a personal safety educator with Enfold and a fitness instructor.

  • Nicola La Noce is an Italian Architect-Urbanist. He graduated from Università degli Studi di Cagliari and has an MA in Housing and Urbanism from the Architectural Association, London. His work has been published in the compilation: ‘Innovative Regions and Creative Cities: Visions and Urban Design Strategies for Nangang, Taipei ,NCTU Taiwan. He has worked on projects in Italy, Kuwait, Chile and India. He currently teaches at Lisaa L’institut supérieur des arts appliqués in Bangalore. He is co-founder at Kumar La Noce Architecture Urbanism. The firm was recently selected as one of 10 outstanding young firms in the region by the Indian Institute of Architects for the 10×10 Praxis exhibition.

  • Bhavana Kumar is an Architect Urbanist from Bangalore. She holds an MA in Housing and Urbanism from the Architectural Association, London. She was a recipient of the prestigious Gurukul scholarship from SPICMACAY to study art and philosophy at the Dalai Lama’s Monastary. She has presented a paper at the Mediating Modernities conference titled ‘ The Architecture of Civic-ness’, conducted by Srishti School of Art Design and Technology and Malmo University, Sweden. She has taught the Architectural Design Studio at RVCE, BMSCE Bangalore. She is Co-founder and Principal at Kumar La Noce Architecture Urbanism, Bangalore.

    GUEST TUTORS

  • Omar Ibraz is currently doing his Post-Professional Masters in Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory at the AA and received his B.Arch degree from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut in India (2013). He has worked for practices both in India and London and has taught at the AA Visiting School Greece Patras. He has extensive experience in digital fabrication, generative design and has exhibited interactive installations in Venice and Brighton.
  • Clare Elizabeth Kennedy is an Australian born architectural graduate. She has worked extensively in Australia, London, the United Arab Emirates and India for a number of notable practices and had taught architectural design both in the UK and Australia. Having travelled extensively across India researching bricks and other forms of earth construction, Clare formed Five Mile Radius, an enterprise that catalogues and experiments with natural building techniques. Clare’s current work focuses on brick-making using found clay, natural additives and traditional techniques.
  • Nilufer Kocabas, graduated with Adaptive Architecture and Computation MSc degree from the Bartlett, UCL, London. Over the past five years Nilufer has been working as a designer focusing on contemporary design, parametric design and fabrication in London and Istanbul. She has worked at Ushida Findlay Architects in London where she was involved in Archelor Mittal Orbit by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond. Following that she worked at Studio Amita Vikrant and Heatherwick studio on different scale international projects. Currently, she is working at Michaelis Boyd Associates in London.In 2009 Nilufer collaborated with Can Altay to create complex architectural components for ‘The New Horizon’ a solo exhibition of Emre Huner in Stroom Gallery, The Hague. She also organized Parametric Synthesis 2010 in Istanbul Technical University in collaboration with LAN and London Metropolitan Works. She was a lecturer for the Vertical Studio 2012 and 2013, at Cardiff University.
